Erani Motu (she/her)
Doctoral Student
Kia orana and kia ora!
I am a proud Māori (Ngā Puhi) and Cook Island Māori doctoral student. I recently completed my Bachelor of Arts Honours research exploring the cultural appropriateness of risk assessment tools used for rangatahi Māori and Pasifika talavou with offending behaviours. I am now in my first year of the clinical psychology program at Massey University and plan to further explore cultural safety from the perspective of rangatahi Māori with offending behaviours (and whānau). I am passionate about creating safer spaces for our rangatahi and empowering our communities through more inclusive mental health services
What brings me joy?
“Sitting on a cosy couch and having kōrero that makes you 'ugly' laugh and connect deeper in community (a cheese board would also be favoured...)”
